The Philadelphia Zoo’s Merit Badge workshops work to cover as many merit badge requirements as possible, all while getting a unique experience that only the Zoo can provide. Some of these merit badge requirements may also cover various Venturing Advanced Award requirements.
For all Merit Study Programs: You will receive an email after you register about what requirements are not covered during the workshop and tips about how to complete them. Scouts can complete those requirements ahead of time and bring examples of their work with them. Our educators can sign off on the blue cards (we do not supply the blue card), or you can send in the finished requirements after the workshop and we will mail the signed card back to you.
Sustainability
One of our premier Merit Badge experiences, Scouts will learn all about sustainability as it relates to wildlife, ecosystems, and people. Explore KidZooU and learn about its many features that earned it a LEED Gold rating, the highest level of sustainability. This badge is currently required for Eagle Scout.
